UAH disc golf course

Established in 1976, the UAH course has played host to major disc golf tournaments including the 1983 and 1993 World Championships. Due to new construction by the University the disc golf course was moved and redesigned in 2005 by Lavone Wolfe and Dean Tannock and it now challenges the longest of arms. UAH is a very difficult links type course requiring a variety of throws. Open, long beautiful vistas, wooded shots, lots of water hazards and OB are the defining characteristics of this course. Lots of risk/reward will penalize long shots that lack control.

This course has 11 holes longer than 400'; 7 longer than 500' in the long configuration. The course plays 7819' in the long and 7338' in the short configurations.

UAH #17

This course features two "over the water" shots. 'The Leech' is a short 280' through the pines and over the water. 'The Dragon' is a long 385' shot almost entirely over water and makes for exciting finishes as witnessed during the 2008's US Women's Disc Golf Championships. Holes #9 and #10 are divided by a small creek that challenges the accuracy of all players. Hole #4 is known as 'The Beast'. It's a 666' shot down a narrow trail that's heavily guarded by dense woods on both sides. Few slay both the Beast and the Dragon in one round.

There is plenty of parking available. Concrete pads, signs, and Mach 3 baskets are on every hole.
